EPLIS Paper 1 Trial Test

Examinees who will take EPLIS Paper 1 may participate in the test development process by taking the "trial test", which consists of a test similar to the real one in terms of format (multiple choice), number of questions, completion time and delivery system. Because the items in the test are being used for the first time, it is not possible to specify the level of difficulty for each of them. For this reason, the test taker's performance in the trial test cannot be interpreted as a prediction of their performance in the real test.

The trial test participants benefit from the experience of taking a test that is similar to the one they will soon be taking. Being familiar with the test application software, the types of audio files and items found in the real test is an important step in preparing for an exam, as it might reduce the chance of interference in the performance of the test taker at the time of the test.

The trialing of new items is also an important step for the development and maintenance of the exam. The data collected is analyzed statistically and qualitatively, which allows the quality of the item produced to be verified, as well as the preparation of different versions of the test within the same level of difficulty.

To take the trial test, the test taker needs to log onto the restricted area of EPLIS website and register. Once this is done, the test taker must contact the local EPLIS coordinator to schedule the day and time for the trial test.
